I've removed and reinstalled this thing several times and can't get it to work. Is there some trick to getting these back in right ? It was working when we bought the house but, I removed it in an ' attempt' to snake the drum trap and haven't been able to get it to work right. I'm guessing the crescent moon shaped thingy has to be in the right position.

is there a name on the face plate????? I think thepart on the right (the spring) is bigger than that are there threads on the piece on the end of the stopper piece?????

No name on the faceplate but, it does look like something may have broken off of the spring shaped piece. Maybe someone has a photo of a complete assembly ?

Anyway, I've solved the problem for now by taking the one from my bathroom and installing it in my wife's tub. :)
