Hello!

I am installing a shower in my basement and am trying to find the right (and affordable option for fixtures). We want to have a shower head (rain shower) and a hand shower. It gets pretty pricey for the trim and 2 way diverter valve, etc. I am wondering if this 'hack' would work and be appropriate...

Here is my random question;

can I take this kit;

https://www.lowes.ca/tub-shower-fau...with-single-function-showerhead_g2235788.html

and replace the tub spout with this:

http://www.amazon.ca/dp/B00HSWPYIG/?tag=skimlinks_replacement-20

and then attach a hand shower after the shut off...

Would this work? Or am I making things too complicated?

We've been looking around and can't seem to find a 2 function system with a hand shower and rain shower head for less than $500... (canada).

Thanks for any advice!

Dave

Yeah! Can't see why not.
You may have to put one on the shower head as well.
The little bit of back flow restriction on the hand held will cause water to flow out of head while using the hand held.

they make a combo shower head unit that has both a hand held and a head with a diverter valve
