Re-installing control valve on a old premier handle

Hello,

I have recently purchased a townhome with a shower tub faucet that was probably installed in the early 70’s. I have removed the handle to clean it now I’m ready to reinstall. When I screw the external Premier faucet piece back on, I cannot move the handle to reach the hot water area and the handle goes a few degrees past 6:00 on the down position.

I have the premier insignia but not sure of the make or model. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Did the faucet body get twisted somehow?? Usually those cup washers are straight across. Looks like
a Delta faucet.

It is premier. They reached out to me, and volunteered to replace all the guts of the valve.
