I am brainstorming about converting my second floor half bath into a full bath. If I tied in the shower drain to the 3" sewer pipe from the toilet would this entire pipe running from the second floor to the basement need to be exposed to pass inspection? Alternatively, if I install a separate 2" drain line just for the shower to the basement would this entire line need to be exposed to pass inspection? I just don't want to have to tear apart my kitchen to be able to see the entire length of the pipe. It would be visible in the bathroom during the rough in and also in the unfinished basement. Thanks for the help.
