I am relocating my water heater from my basement laundry room to my basement "crawl space." The location I would like to move it to has cold and hot water copper pipes running right above where the water heater is going. Can I tee off of these to the water heater or do I need to reconnect the water heater in the sequence that it is currently installed?
I'm assuming I can tie into it in this new location and it will work just fine other than I may notice differences on certain faucets getting hot water sooner or later than they did previously. Which I'm totally fine with. It's not that big of a house and everything gets hot relatively quickly already.
I am correct or way off??

Thanks!!
