pipe leaking when flushed on old fashioned toilet

water leaking from pipe in toilet. spewing only when flushed. See attached picture. What are my options, knowing that in about 6 months I am renovating the entire bathroom?

Try this
Looks like the nut has disintegrated. The probably used a zinc nut.

looks like 1-1/2" tubing.

you don't need the valve. just the tube and nuts.

you can probably just use 1-1/2" tubular drain fitting and nuts

Thanks Mr David! I will try that. its leaking right that the joining of the bent tubular pipe and the threads. The previous owners had some sort of putty on there that just did not hold. I'm assuming they tried that since its not perfectly aligned with the valve and toilet.
