pipe connection

Hi,

I want to connect a 2" pressurised pipe to a 4" pipe that works by gravity. Can somebody tell me how the connection works? Do I have to put something special to reduce the pressure. The pipe are pressurised by a dual sewer pumps.

If it's just a lift station pump there should be no problem. Most dual systems the pumps alternate and don't run at the same time.

John, would it be wisest to make the tie in with a wye fitting instead of a tee fitting, so that the pressure discharge would be directed properly? I have never done this type of tie in, but it makes sense to me.

The connection should be made with a Y with the branch at the top of the main.
