I recently completed a remodel on my kitchen. The new sink sits lower than the old one did. My new sink begins backing up and draining slow after I run approximately 2 gallons of water through it. My question, is whether this new 'p' trap assembly is causing the slow draining sink? Naturally, I'm hoping to avoid opening this wall and moving the wall drain lower below the shut off valve. Any suggestions are appreciated!

The drain should definitely be lowered. Depending on how it's piped in the wall, you may have a lot of work to do it properly. Proper height for that drain would be approximately 16" off your finished floor.

Shucks-well here's what is behind the wall. I've removed the elbows of course. Now I have to figure the best way to move it to the 16" mark... Any tips? Much appreciated!
