Hi Plumbing Foums!

I replaced the noisy flush valve in our Kohler toilet. After testing for leaks with a paper towel I noticed a tiny amount of water (1 drip worth) coming from under the ballcock nut (see arrow in pic) after each flush. It is noticeable when putting a paper towel up in that area as a test, otherwise it may have gone unnoticed. I used Teflon tape as you can see peeking above the ballcock nut.

I hand-tightened, and gently used a wrench to get another 1/4 turn just to see if that would eliminate it, but the one tiny drip after each flush still appears. It would be great to get a couple opinions on it:

1. Could I have put too much Teflon tape? I put it on thick....
2. Does it look like the nut needs tightening? I was worried about overtightening.
3. Is the flex pipe the problem? Its about 5 years old and the washer inside appeared OK when I had it off.

Thank you for the help!

Joe
