Hello all.
I have a very old F&W jet pump on a well. I need to get the pump off so I can replace it.
The pump was not bolted down, it seems to just be sitting on top of the casing.
I can slide the pump to the side and I can see two pipes, one of which is seems to have come apart at a hose clamp about 3 feet down the casing.
Can I assume that the entire weight of the dual pipes are simply hanging from the pump? I have heard that the pumps in this area are very deep, some several hundred feet deep. I cant imagine that there is hundreds and hundreds of pounds of iron pipe just hanging from this pump.
If i get a chain hoist and pull the pump up is that going to bring up the deep pipes as well? I not only need to replace this pump but I need to reconnect the disconnected section that I can see in the casing.
Any help is appreciated.
