I'm about to install a new kitchen counter and sink. One of the subcontractors said it appears I'll have to drop the drain pipe going in the wall to accommodate the new 10" deep, split sink. I have a split now, with one side is a gourmet style only 5" deep, to which the disposer is mounted.
Since the current cabinet floor is raised to fit drawers underneath, I'll be removing said drawers and the existing cabinet floor. Thus, the distance from the bottom of the new cabinet to the proposed new sink's bottom will be about 22". Figuring a disposal's height is about 12", will that permit acceptable plumbing when the trap is run to the drain pipe to the wall, which will be about 13.5" from the new floor?
Also, is it better to mount the disposal to the split sink's smaller sink?
Thanks...
