The plastic bits in the old one fell apart so we bought a new one. Kitchen faucet/tap.
we vaguely remember the last time we did this we had to remove bits of the inside of the new one to get water pressure.
any ideas?
thanks for your help

What exact type of faucet do you have?

Brand?
Model?
Single or double handle?
Pull out faucet spray head?

At least post some pics to get better answers.

And remove your new aerator, take it apart and post a pic of all the parts laid out neatly.

Yes the brand and model makes a difference.
You can call Moen and they will send you a new free aerator that matches and fits that faucet.
With the correct gallons-per-minute flow rate.

You might have purchased a generic aerator, and they are sold with a very wide range of different flow rates.

Meanwhile, if you take it apart and post pics, we can advise you how to modify it.

If you still have the package the new aerator came in, post a pic showing that info.
