please help!!!
i can't figure out which way these nuts are even threaded...
the sink is screwed to the countertop on the bottom...
likely hasnt been touched for a long time... possibly decades
any help would be greatly appreciated. i basically dont know from where i am going to be able to twist and detach... do i loosen this plastic nut? the metal nut underneath it (and which way does it come out)? the one below that? im very confused...

The nuts that secure the faucet and the brass supply nuts are removed by turning clockwise.

The clips that hold the sink in can be twisted off with pliers.

You need to use a basin wrench on the nut. Google "basin wrench" to see one if you don't already know what it is. And don't buy a cheap one either 'cause the handle could bend. Should cost under $10 (I would think...)

If you cannot loosen the nuts you might want to consider cutting the copper pipe somewhere below those nuts (and discard them with the sink and fixture). In fact, it would probably be easier if you just went ahead and cut the copper pipes. You'll save a few bucks by not buying a basin wrench and by not having to worry about removing the metal nuts and the plastic nuts

Next, disassemble the drain from the sink. Then you can start removing the sink.

thanks so much for the time you guys took out to reply. the pipes are very thick walled (though thin in diameter) and hard, so not even sure if they are copper. would have to clean them up to tell because they are so far gone. anyways

I got a short armed crescent wrench around the nut and (after a couple hours earlier applying wd40) tapping firmly on the wrench with a heavy hammer. it took quite a bit of time, but i figued i'd try to vibrate it and break it free and that worked. its an old sink so i didnt worry about taking the pastic nut off. everything is getting replaced.

I GOT IT!!!! had I not, I surely would have been up all night reviewing yalls suggestions and looking for others...

so, THANK YOU!!!
