Just replaced the old 1220 cartridge to the shower fixture and works fine when shower is shut off, no leaks at all, but when I pull the knob to start the water, there's a small leak through the center hole of the cartridge and the tapped hole for the knob mount, no pressure, just a small leak, that flows behind the inside of the knob down in the tub. Anybody knows what's going on? Thanks

Sounds like a defective stem. Is it after market? If you call Moen they will send you one free of charge.
Defective cartridge. Get a replacement and you will be fine. I've had a few of those in the past months...must be a bad batch out there
