I noticed my main water shut off in my front yard was leaking a little and I figured I could just close it a little to see if it stops dripping. Unfortunately as soon as I tried to close it the knob came off and water was spraying everywhere. I was able to force the knob back in and shut off the water completely but the knob does not securely stay on and will shoot off when the water is turned back on. The knob is not threaded like a screw and I did not see any screws to lock it in place on the sides. Anyone know how these are attached and how to fix it?

I included a pic of the valve before doing anything to it, and the knob, and valve after I turned it off.
