I recently moved into a new place with a shower stall that uses a Symmons Temptrol mixing valve. A couple of weeks after moving in, I went to take a shower and noticed that, while the shower was off, the position of the handle was what would have been about 45 degrees into the on position. When I turned it on, I got very low pressure, even with the shower fully on. I tried taking the cartidge out and cleaning it, but that didn't help. I called a plumber who came in and was stumped too, and I was advised that it was a low pressure valve and that's just the way it was. I was starting to learn to live with it until about a week later when it sputtered and came back to full pressure. The valve also started going back to the original off position.
Today I went to take a shower and now it's doing it again. Any ideas would be really helpful.
