Hi folks

weve recently had a new shower/cubicle fitted in our en-suite (a few weeks ago). We had people around at the weekend and noticed after a couple of showers that there were wet signs, mainly all around the edge of the ceiling/wall, and a couple of patches high on the wall. Please see images. I climbed up into the loft where access isnt great but I couldnt see/feel any wet patches although I couldnt check everywhere. Does this look like we have a small leak or a bit of condensation?

Thanks in advance

A local bathroom company.

One of our guests did leave the shower on for a long time.

Also, if it was a leak would the wet patches go all the way down - there are dry spots, i.e.

They came around and examined their work, climbed in the loft and checked everything was bone dry. Its condensation.

Is there an exhaust fan in the bathroom?

Did your guest use the fan?

Is the fan actually working?

Is the fan exhaust properly routed to the outside?

Where are you located?

Canada?

UK?

Hi. Thanks, its sorted now. Yes there is a working fan extracting outside (see picture 3). There were 3 people showering and the last person left the shower on for a long time. The problem was exacerbated by the previous owners painting matt emulsion on the walls instead of for e.g a silk bathroom grade paint. The shower has just been fitted and we have already had a leak from it going downstairs so we were in a rush to assess this - hence the quick question “leak or condensation”. All sorted now but thanks to those that replied.

Its a bit of an optical illusion that photo, it only shows the top bit of a narrow wall, its about a foot off the ceiling, so could be higher, but its not too bad. Its been fine normally, for the 20 years the house has had it. But it doesnt help when people leave the shower on hot for 30 mins and not tell us. Again, thanks for the constructive replies - weve ran the shower normally a few times and all is well. :)
