Are you talking about wiped joints or soldered joints for potable water with lead in the solder? Wiped joints for DWV are still allowed but you must use lead free solder on potable water.

If you are really a plumbing apprentice then you should be watching everything your journeyman or master is teaching you. You should also address these regional code questions to them. They have put in their time learning the trade & it shows you are thinking about the trade ( although a question like that will probably get you laughed at ). If you are not a tradesman but are trying to coyly find an answer to a question to an issue you're having, just straight out. The guys on this forum seem real down to earth & want to help DIYers.
