Hi Everyone. Got a new house, and having some septic work done. The contractor told me that my leach field didn't have a d-box, and instead he thought there was a single (broken) 1-way valve from the septic tank to the leach field, causing some problems. Today after digging a drain curtain, he said he uncovered some wires in the leach field and told me that now he believes my leach lines have electric solenoid valves at the start of each one.

He explained that its an outdated system, that has an electric solenoid valve on the start of each line and a sensor on the end. So when fluid hits the sensor, it closes off that line and fluid flows to the next. Has anyone heard of this type of system? I tried doing some research but can't find any info. Thanks!

Call your local health or permit department.
They may have info on it.
