lav sink valves

8 yo AS ped lav sink and faucets. The hot water is very stiff and dripping a tiny bit.
I managed to get the valve out, soaked it in vinegar for a while and got the cartridge out and then dunked it and the empty valve back in the vinegar.
The surfaces on both are now clean, but the faucet still leaks about the same.

Should I just get a new AS cartridge for this (and the other valves) or might there be a better valve manufacture in Kohler, if it would fit the hole? Or are all these sort of valves pretty much the same quality, since all the carts appear to be plastic now?

Or perhaps just replace the O ring if there is a spec on it?
