Kohler single handle shower removal ?

Please see attached photo. I can find no set screws, no hidden caps, etc. so how do I get the old handle and faceplate off - the faceplate does have screws but the plate won't come off unless the handle assembly is removed. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Have you tried threading either side of the handle out of the "main handle"?

I have seen that before, with a set screw underneath that. Don't remember if it was a Kohler.

Phishfood is correct the lever part does unscrew. I think it's a Kohler model K-T6810.
