Kohler Cimarron Won't Completely Flush

I have to hold the handle down until it completely flushes or it will only let a little water down and not completely flush until I wait and let the tank completely refill. It use to completely flush with a quick hit on the handle and let go . I'm confused about what is wrong and what needs to be replaced. Is the 3 inch canister defective ?

Try replacing the rubber seal on the bottom of the flush canister

It doesn't leak down , it just drops the 3 inch tube too early before it fully flushes . You have to hold the handle down until it fully flushes .

Ok, now replace the seal.
