Hi, my girlfriend is having trouble with getting the hot water side of her kitchen sink to work. I took a look to make sure the valve under the sink was turned on, which it was on very little. I had to cut a wood shelf under the valve to finish turning the valve all the way on. Even with doing so, with the hot water faucet turned all the way on, it will only dribble, or barely come out of the faucet. The sink is a double sink with a knob for hot water and a separate knob for cold water. The cold water side works fine, and the hot water works fine throughout the rest of the house. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

I'd start by disassembling the valve and checking the washer.
