Johnson Tee?

Hi all, we are in the middle of a kitchen renovation. The walls are open, so I am wondering if Los Angeles county code allows for a Johnson Tee instead of a counter mounted air gap for a dishwasher? I would love to have it vent through the exterior wall if possible but don't know if that is legal.

No way I’d install anything other than a high loop. I might install whatever to pass inspection but then I’d rip it out once the inspector left or not use it.
