Hey all,

My house was built in the 40s in New England and still has what I believe to be it's original service line.

Here is a picture of it: https://imgur.com/a/WCk3r

It doesn't look like a traditional lead service line as it doesn't have the characteristic "bulb" that other lead service lines tend to have. Like this: http://cdn.balkanplumbing.com/wp-content/uploads/Lead-water-main-2.jpg

To me, the shape makes me think it may be copper due to it's lack of a bulb: http://cdn.balkanplumbing.com/wp-content/uploads/flared-fitting.jpg

However, it does look similar to this image on Inspectopedia: https://inspectapedia.com/plumbing/Lead_Water_Main023-DJFss.jpg

Please let me know what you think this is!

Looks like copper line to me. Also I see a galvanized line with a half of a union on it. That might of been the old line.

Most likely copper sand it down CAREFULLY to see if it is.
