Idea for Connecting Concrete Pipe to PVC

We’re replacing a stretch of cast iron pipe with PVC. This stretch of new PVC pipe will connect with the main, which is concrete.

However, connecting them seems to be tricky; the concrete pipe entrance is 4 inches on the inside but 8 inches on the outside.

I’d like to know if it would be advisable to use a reducer on the concrete pipe, so that we can connect the 4inch PVC pipe to the main.

Here’s photos of the existing concrete entrance to the main and the product I was thinking of getting to connect the new PVC.

Also, if getting the reducer is an option, is there some sort of sealant I should also use to bond the PVC fitting with the concrete? Any other tips? Or is this a bad idea?

there may be a rubber(push gasket)that fits inside the hub then you would lubricate the outside of the pvc and the inside of the gasket and push it in

Look at donut fittings or maybe a hub sealer. Concrete also works just fine.

insert the pvc into the concrete pipe
seal the joint using non-fibered roofing tar [stops bugs/roots]
then seal it with concrete [stops movement]

Is that a hub end on that concrete pipe? If you dig behind it does it measure out as standard concrete pipe size? If so, snap that hub off and get a concrete to pvc fernco rubber fitting.
