Someone in my house has autism so the toilet taking forever to refill the water & all the flushing sounds are effecting their ability to sleep (their room is next door to the only bathroom in the house)

The toilet is kinda old too ( not sure if that matters, but it's gotta be 15 - 20 years old or more)

Could I replace it with either one of these?

And out of those, which one is the quietest? I heard some people say the

American Standard 2887518.020 H2Option Siphonic Dual Flush Normal Height Elongated Toilet with Liner, White, 2-Piece is kinda loud while others say it's quiet so I'm unsure who to believe

Any advice is appreciated, just looking for quiet toilets that flush & refill quickly

Budget is about $300 - $500

If you fixed the slow fill would that cure your problem ??????
Thanks for the reply! :)

We still would like to replace the toilet for a newer model, one more efficient & nicer looking

The one in the house is at least 15 - 20 years old, so it's time for a replacement

We are just mainly interested in quiet models though :)

Quiet is relative. What’s quiet for me may not be quiet for you, and may be awful loud for someone on the spectrum who perceives sensory things differently. Also, is slightly louder for a shorter fill time better than quieter but longer? 🤔 Nobody can answer that for you.

Pardon the pun but you’re on a crap-shoot here. Here are some links, but notice nobody lists noise in dB.

I always suspect these increasingly popular “reviews” that appear to have been written by robots but at least you’ve got something here to look at. One thing I’ll agree with: avoid any pressure assist toilets or commercial toilets as they are very loud!

Thank you for the info very much appreciated, will definitely avoid those pressure assist toilets

Do you live near a city?
Ferguson plumbing supply has showrooms in cities where you can check out the toilets and items in person. The people there might know which ones are quiet. My guess is the super high end Toto toilets would be. Ask if they can sell them that are still made in Japan. Or if any they can get made here are super quiet. In Japan, they have extremely small apartments and Toto is a high end toilet that I would think still make toilets for that situation. (Toto toilets use to all be imported but now they are made here or in Mexico for American market. But I wonder if a toilet made for the Japanese market would be quieter. I'm guess YES if you can get one imported and it works with our flanges, valves.
