Heat exchanger (reservoir which holds glycol and h20). [Around 3 feet long]
...
connected to a nipple (1.5" NPT) [2 inches long]
...
connected to a flange

*Using Loctite Sealant (rated for temperatures up to 300 degrees F)
Torquing unit with a lot of force
*We can only tighten them 1 or 1.5 revolutions by hand before we have to use a 14 inch wrench. We use a 3 foot cheater bar to torque the nipple/flange
*Unit is tested with 30PSI after letting sealant dry for 24 hours.

-My thought is that the heat exchanger and flange female threads are not FNPT. They have a very slight, barely measurable taper (maybe 20 thousanths of an inch). Any suggestions?

UNIT IS LEAKING at the nipple connection between both the heat exchanger and the flange (should have made that clear). Thanks for all your feedback
