Need to replace this ball valve due to the handle breaking off. It appears that turning to loosen one end will tighten the other. Is there a trick to this or has the original installer doomed me to hack sawing it off? OK, I confess - I installed it and if memory serves, I probably built it and then installed it, leaving myself no way to replace the valve without disassembling several connections in order to undue my ignorance.
Thanks

Looks like a gas line. Take it all apart or cut the pipe and add a Union.
