How to Fasten a Flanged Tub in Place and Wall Board Placement

I've looked on line and some tubs don't appear to be fastened and I see some that have screws through the top flange into the studs. Other says place the screw over the top of the flange letting the head hold it down. It's a drop in tub with a ledger board under the rim and a knee wall under the open face.

What is the correct or standard way to secure it in place"?

Also does the wallboard fit on top of the flange or over it by removing the thickness of the flange from the back of the wallboard or cement fiber board in my case.

I use roofing nails and let the head catch the top of the lip. I drill a hole in the stud to place my nail into. Be very careful not to hit the tub.

Your stub outs are WRONG. They must be drop ear fittings that will provide screw holes to attach to the blocking.
