Kitchen drain is cast iron running under slab. Cleanout is 2". Suspect that pipe is broken and collapsed about 8' from cleanout. Cannot get video because of buildup of grease and sludge. Snake and video camera both got stuck and were very difficult to retrieve.

Rooter says they won't snake due to risk of getting equipment stuck.

How do we clean out the gunk so that we can get good video before busting up the floor?

You're not going to be able to get anything in there to clean it out if the snake and camera are getting stuck. I definitely wouldn't bust up the floor. Your best bet is to tunnel under the slab and repair the line.

Or if kitchen is on exterior wall. Locate main sewer out front and run a new line from main sewer out front to location of sink. Digging outside is a lot easier than digging under a slab.

I agree with the cdimarco. You have only one option to replace the lines by digging up.
Call a professional to do this work to avoid any other damage to the lines.
