What exactly do you need to accomplish?

That looks like an old Delta shower valve.
 
I mean my bf said i had to remove the whole wall to replace the water spout. I've watched videos and it seems like it should just screw off but it's not budging
 
The tub spout will either just unscrew counter clockwise, or it will have a set screw underneath, near the tub wall, which has to be loosened, then the spout will just pull off.
The set screw is usually a hex head allen screw.

Some have a set screw on the underside close to the wall. It takes an Allen key to loosen it then it just pulls off
 
I’ve had to cut some of them off. Most of those cheap spouts are not brass.
If it’s screwed into copper it can twist the copper off before the joint unscrews.

Using a little heat toward the end of the spout can help it break free.
