Hello, I recently purchased a home and the master bathroom shower has acted weird twice in the past month. In order to get hot water to the shower I need to turn on the vanity faucet, as soon as you turn off the faucet the shower turns cold again. This has only happened twice in the 3 months we have lived there.

Other information of use?
The house runs on a triangle tube boiler.
Hot water also drives in-floor heating to 4 zones in the house.
The house has well water.
I do live in Minnesota and it was -10 degrees this morning.

The manufacturer of Triangle Tube?
The rest of the house has hot water, but I have to run a facet in the bathroom for the shower to pull hot water...that sounds like a plumbing pipe problem?

Sounds like a sticking balancing spool in the shower faucet. A cartridge replacement should solve the problem. If it's a Moen or Delta faucet call the manufacture of the faucet and they will send you a replacement free of charge.
