hot water is not reaching faucets hot

I added a shower in a basement bathroom and now hot water fails to reach the kitchen faucet. I simply tapped into the 3/4 line Tee with a 1/2 pipe dropping down to supply the shower.Distance from hot water heater is 10 ft.
I've added pipe insulation but nothing so far.

did you push the 1/2'' pipe to far up into the 3/4 tee and block it off?
