Particulars: Shop 6 gal. electric. On a shelf above the shop sink. On a well w/ bladder tank. Feeds sink and shop shower, thats all.

Recently had the inlet flex copper pipe develop a leak at the water heater nipple. Through the breaker, drained it, replaced w/ new flex pipe. Left hot faucet 1/2 open, open the feed line shut off valve. Air did appear to purge fine via faucet. Yet now I get considerable hot from the cold line at the shop sink. Never did this B4. I did all the plumbing back in 96. I assume installing a back flow valve would fix it, yet dont understand why its only now after 20 yrs that this is happening. Did I miss something on the pipe replacement. I’m thinking air is still trapped and I will need to explore if there is a tank plug just below the ceiling.View attachment 36846
