Help with odd shower diverter

So I have a friend who enlisted me to help with this issue. The homeowner would like to exhaust options before replacing her whole shower mixer. She can afford gold plated fixtures but has an attachment to this one. I have repaired valves and replaced mixers but never this issue. There is no brand name on this valve but looks similar to some Kohler I have seen. There is a push button diverter that is stuck in shower only mode in a jetted tub. Anyone have experience with this? Thanks in advance for any help!!

I have had diverters stick, but not that particular model faucet, which I have no clue who made yours.

Take the trim off and remove the diverter. It might just need cleaning.
