I need to remove the metal guts from this old tub spout, but can't figure out how. I am guessing that most of the guys who might know are now dead. This is from the 1920's. The spout is marked "Bear Brand". Google is no help. I am guessing that the 4 holes might have something to do with it, but maybe not. Any ideas?

I appreciate the lead. I will let you know how it goes! Thanks!

I would start by soaking the spout in diesel or varsol for a couple of days

then, by trapping the spout between 2 boards. so that it will not turn

you could remove the nipple, then, it is all about looking inside and figureing it out as you go

go slow

btw...porcelain is not porous, diesel will not stain it, it will wsh off
