,
greetings.

just joined but wonder if anyone can advise.

i've recently moved into a house with septic tank.
its about 5 years old.

the lid of the tank is in a dip in the garden.
and when its heavy rain the dip fills very quickly and over tge top of the lid.
presumably the water leaks under the lid lip. and goes into tank.

would it be sensible of me to build a concrete frame around the lids and cover over with a slab?

so that vent. lid and outflow lid are contained.?

hope that makes sense.

Just cover with dirt to make the water run off is the simple fix, and you are correct about warer seeping into tank so much that during long rains it will saturate field lines to the point of needing pumped

why isnt the lid sealed ?

In ga lids are just concrete and have no seals on them. You could add riders that would work also but put one on each end of tank so you can access filter if equipef

All septic lids should be above grade. Get some concrete risers or a plastic adapter and plastic risers/lid and get that thing above grade.

many thanks for all the responses and suggestions.

going to get risers then fill in around.

many thanks again
