Sorry, newb here. Have been googling and youtubing, hopefully you are willing to help.

Flange was metal/pvc combo. Metal is rusted out where the closet bolts hold the toilet down. Don't think there is enough room for me to install those quarter circle repair kit pieces bc the rest of the flange is not totally rusted out. Similarly, not sure i could get the rest of the rusted metal part out without causing damage to the pvc (not sure if that metal part could just come right out if I moneyed with it long enough? Feels pretty tight/secure), or get anything underneath.

Thought about the superior super ring but not sure that'll be ok. Bottom of toilet looks too small + the ring would sit on top of flange too so it'd raise the toilet up a bit. But when I dry fit it against the bottom of the toilet I don't think it'll fit over it. See how the base of the toilet hits the metal on each corner...

Top of flange is flush with finished floor, laid vinyl on plywood.

Anywyays not sure what to do. Do you have any suggestions please?

The guy before me must've dealt with it, but he just used long screws and screwed the toilet directly down to the floor to fix... but that failed.

Try tin snips ,a Dremel tool something like that
Try to lift the pvc part of the flange withpvc toilet shims,or couple of big flathead screw drivers then a couple of wooden door stops then you could get the repair flange under it

Thanks. Is the rusted metal built into the pvc kinda? Am I better off trying to rip the metal out, even though only the part that holds the bolts in is corroded..or is it better to keep it intact as much as I can?

Usually you can remove the metal ring and the split ring goes in it's place try a Dremel tool cut it in a few spots and bend it back and forth, can you access from below cut it in a good spot , and install new

I'd just cut it out and start over. We normally don't need with repairing these. Do you have any pipe to work with? Or is the flange set pretty close to a fitting?

Ya, had a feeling someone world say that.

Kinda intimidated of doing that as a diy-er. And, ya, pipe turns immediately.

thanks. I bought one of those too but wasn't sure about getting the rest of the metal off. I'll Dremel and tin snip it out. Ty to all who took the time to reply. Appreciate ya.

Ty for your help. I was able to get the corroded ring out in pieces. I have the oatey in now (dry fit).

Is there anything I should know/be aware of before I lock her into place? I read someone say to fill the gaps between the pvc and the ring with wax, which I can do. Any other recommendations, or height/level/etc requirements to consider? I'll probably use 1 1/4 stainless steel screws and will work on getting it as level as possible. There's not much room to play in there at all.

Looks good. Replace that water supply and use brass closet bolts to anchor the toilet. Shim if necessary and caulk it to the floor.
