st. louis,
I have a bathtub with an old trip lever overflow plate that needs to be replaced. It is larger than the standard 3" diameter. I am replacing it but there is a small (~1/8") gap along the top of the plate leading to the overflow pipe.

I have searched for a larger diameter trip lever plate in chrome but can't find one.

Can I just caulk the small space along the top of the overflow plate?

Also, any suggestions for finding a larger trip lever overflow plate?

Thanks

Danco makes a 3 3/16" trip lever overflow plate, though I am unsure as to where you can get one in your area.

I would avoid just slapping caulk in the area, it will look bad and age poorly.

I can't find the right size anywhere. Here are some pics of the old one, after it's removed, and the new one with the gap.

I'm not sure why but my last post didn't reply. I posted I think there are overflow gaskets that can go behind the plate around $2-$6. Hopefully this will work.
