Freezing tub trap

My house doesn’t have a foundation- just up on blocks- and when it gets below zero out my tubbtrap freezes. I’ve put antifreeze down the drain but it doesn’t help. It’s also wrapped with fiberglass insulation. Can heat tape be put on it?

location.? What is the temperature outside that causes the freezing? whats the material of the drain pipe?

Upstate NY. -10 degrees. Idk what the pipe is made of. I think it looks like white plastic.

No but it was intended to just be a summer place.

Yes, I’d use it.

Frostex is a good one. Its a single wire with a temp sensor at the end to turn it on and off.

I had some pex freeze a few nights ago.

It’s sacrificial hose Bibb runs about 3’ long each. They haven’t ruptured yet, they’ve frozen 4/5 times solid so far without problems. It’s about 10 yrs old.

It thaws out and keeps on truck’n

If you put anti-freeze in the drain and it's still freezing, maybe the freeze point is further downstream than your tub trap.

When the guy comes to thaw it I think he concentrates the heat gun on the trap.
