Fiberglass insulation cleanup

While my plumber's assistant was removing drywall he also removed the fiberglass insulation.

Unfortunately he decided to put it on the counter in our kitchen.

It is my understanding that a HEPA vacuum should be used to clean up fiberglass insulation. My plumber does not use this.

He does have a Rigid vacuum with a HEPA filter. Is there a difference between a HEPA vacuum and a vacuum with a HEPA filter.

Will a vacuum with a HEPA filter be of any use for cleaning up fiberglass?

Funny. I just read that advice about the wipe down.

I will wipe down the counter myself.

I had to buy the filter myself for $30.00. I am wondering if there really is any benefit compared to the Fine Particle filter which is one step down. If not I will return it.

Never really gave it much thought. I normally try to cover stuff up when cutting drywall and pulling out insulation. Sometimes it just depends on how dirty the place is before I showed up. A damp cloth should be fine. It's not toxic. If I crawled into an attic with short sleeve shirt I might get a little itchy until I go take a shower. It's the asbestos that maybe hidden in the acoustic ceiling that I would be more worried about. A damp cloth and a good wipe down should be just fine.
