I installed a new septic system at my cottage. There is a 90 gallon concrete pump chamber at the side of the cottage that the main drain line goes into. There is a 4/10 hp Liberty effluent pump in the tank with a 2” discharge pipe. It pumps 160’ with about a 6’ head to a 800 gallon concrete tank. Where the 2” line enters the main tank it pumps straight in, it almost discharges over the baffle with test water. My question is should I put a sanitary-T on the pipe to direct the effluent down or would that stir up the tank and affect the settling of the solids?
