[Edited to add:] Please ignore -- I worked out how to separate the lid from the column, then the column screwed nicely into the bottom of the cistern. Sorry for wasting anyone's time.

Hello all,
Sorry to make my first post a question, but can anyone help me with my wonky toilet? It wouldn't stop trickling in the pan, and I can't work out how to stop it on this model. There's a central column attached to the push button on top (which makes it impossible to set everything up before replacing the lid); on the right, there's water burbling out of the top. There's a small amount of water in the bottom of the cistern.

I think I need to insert the central column in such a way as to close the hole in the middle of the cistern base (there's a rubber/silicon skirt on the base of the column), but can't do it without the lid blocking my access to the inside. Any ideas would be much appreciated!
