Do I use a PVC "Quik Cap" to close off the connection for my dishwasher drain hose?

I'm renovating my rental and throwing away the old dishwasher. Would I use this cap ("Quik Cap") to close off the connection to the previously used drain hose under the sink?

For the same price, just purchase a extension without the dishwasher connection. Much safer that way.
