Do guys still Solder copper anymore or is it shark bit and pex pipe.
There are still jobs that are specified with copper, and often that is still soldered. ProPress is another method of joining copper that seems to be getting very popular. The fittings for ProPress have an Oring inside of them, and a press tool crimps the fitting onto the pipe.
PEX pipe has not taken off in my area as of yet. It is used occasionally, but CPVC is the dominant piping material.
Yeah lots of commercial jobs require copper and cast iron because of fire ratings. But most houses are using pex now a days, at least in my area.
