hello,
in my bathroom upstairs the toilet upstairs was clogged, my mom put a drain opener and left it, unknowigly my little brother flushed the toilet and it over flowed due to whitch the light fixture downstairs and a little around the light fixture from a part of the ceiling about 1 meter distance, water started to leak. this happend once last summer due to overflow and once we cleaned upstairs it stopped. i dont think it is a burst pipe or leak becuase it would not stop after the water upstairs stopped. plz tell me what i should do

Start by replacing wax ring to asure you have a good seal. And never put a drain cleaner in the toilet it can destroy the wax ring and cause a leak.

Drain cleaners really don't work very often. If they do work at all they tend to open up a small hole in the clog. The water drains, you think your fine, but the line clogs again in a short time.
