Can you help name the missing part?

Hi all,

I can’t figure out what adaptor (or what) goes between this wall piece and shower hose (also pictured). The hose is standard 1/2” but the inside of the wall piece looks like 3/8 or 7/16. I lost the piece that goes here. Any ideas what it could be? Links appreciated. It’s from a rental unit and I don’t want to bother my landlord…

Other info:
- the other shower components are Moen but I didn’t assemble it so I don’t know if they’re all the same brand.
- I thought maybe the wall piece could be this and that when I removed the shower hose, maybe I untwisted a part of that piece that actually isn’t even sold separately (?!)

You’ll need to buy another wall ell if you lost the piece. Usually that piece doesn’t come out.
