handle socket is stripped, cartridge is stiff. Need new handle and cartridge.
I checked AS, Grohe, Moen, Kohler. Kohler Purist is the closest but an inch taller and the cartridge looks a bit different. The handle is two-piece, holds together with a screw from the bottom and attaches to base with a screw-down collar (kohler purist is one-piece and bonnet holds with a setscrew in the back).
