Any tips on how to fix or remove this broken tub diverter?

The diverter is completely broken, so this is now a tub only (can't divert to shower head). Can't figure out how to replace or even remove this plate. The cap unscrews, but inside is just a hole about 6" deep that is too dark to see what's at the end of it. No idea what brand this is.

That’s most likely a tempress 2 rough valve.

There’s a Phillips or flathead screw at the bottom of the hole in the handle most likely.

Get a flashlight and look.

Many manufacturers used that rough valve. There’s a plastic piece on the diverter that has a tendency to break.

It could be several brands using that same Tempress 2 valve body. Many used it.

Your trim looks like it’s NewPort Brass or Plumbtrim. Same difference.

You were spot on about Newport Brass. Amazing. I reached out to them and they identified it as a 3-822BP shower set and gave me some tips. Thank you so much!
